As André for the first time has not spent his winter in South Africa he decided to get some tournament practice with starts in 4 tournaments in Belek, Turkey, on the EPD Tour.
After a 17th position at the Gloria New Course Classic (rounds of 74 / 70, the third round was cancelled due to bad weather), a 19th position at the Gloria Old Course Classic (rounds of 69 / 77, the third round was also cancelled there), a missed cut at the Sueno Dunes Classic (71 / 73) and a 6th position at the Sueno Pines Classic Platz (rounds of 70 / 72 ) André looks back with mild content.
"Those 4 short events back to back in such shortintervals were a new experience for me and I walk away pleased as I could test some changes I have introduced in my physical workout and my putting in December. The courses in Belek were all in great condition. And there were unusually many Swiss pro colleagues present which I also enjoyed".

Again no highflying feelings for André at this year's Omega European Masters in Crans, Switzerland!
"For some reason this seems to be the trend for me on this course" said a disappointed André after Friday. Too many mistakes and not enough converted birdie chances led to an early exit in front of the home crowds.
But the rounds of 71 and 75 (146 / +4) belong to the past as the next event looms around the corner.
Next start: Kasachstan Open in Almaty starting September 8 2011.

Thanks to the return of his putting-touch André achieved another season highlight at the Rolex Trophy, a Challenge Tour event staged in Geneva, Switzerland, just in time before the most important golfing event in Switzerland, the Omega European Masters in Crans from September 1-4 2011.
"I had traveled to Geneva with serious putting troubles but I knew that my swing is there and that it was only a matter of time until my putting turned around" said André after the 4 days in Geneva. That was the case on round 2: he stormed away with a solid 66 and confirmed it on day 3 with the best round of the day 65.
The rounds of 74, 66, 65 and 72 led to the 7th position in the end at -11, total 277.

The first tournament highlight on Swiss soil ends for André before the weekend: rounds of 73 and 73 (146 / +4) are not good enough to make the good at the CS Challenge in Golf Sempachersee in July 2011.
"Unfortunately the hard work over the last weeks did not pay out. The putting is still not quite there, I had to put down 6 three putts over the first two rounds" said a disappointed Bossy on Friday evening.
The press had a lot to say about Bossy this week:

Another solid round of 62 on home Swiss soil! André could make the most of his "revamped" putting technique at the one day Pro-Am in Sion on June 14 2011, eventhough the old pattern snuck up on him on the back nine. (André was -6 after 9 and finished the day at "only" -8...).
At least he hit a good shot down the mountain onto the driving range: 500 metres! Watch the shots
.

Bossy 3rd at Barclays Kenya Open

Bossy always had a soft spot for Kenya where he walked away with the Prime Prize in...

Bossy always had a soft spot for Kenya where he walked away with the Prime Prize in 1992 so he did not hesitate to embark into this year's Challenge Tour season with a trip to Nairobi again. And it paid off: after rounds of 70, 64 (beating the rest of the field by 2 strokes), 70 and 71 Bossy finished the event at Muthaiga Golf Course in tied 3rd position on 275 (-9).
"To be honest, I did not have any expectations coming into this week as I had not played competitive golf since end of January, coming off an unsuccessful winter stretch on the Sunshine Tour in South Africa. But I went back to the swing basics over the last 4 weeks in Zurich and it seems it did the trick. I lost my swing at the beginning of the last day today (being 4 over after 5 holes) but managed to bring it back, which is the key".
So a good start into the 22nd Season, where André will continue to play selected events, share his expertise in Company Days and Workshops and fulfill his mandate as Captain of the Swiss PGA.
