For the first time ever, André started his 23rd season as a Golf Touring Professional not by playing events on the Sunshine Tour in South Africa over the winter months. Instead of setting up base in Johannesburg he opted to build up for this season in Switzerland. The mild month of December played in his favour as he could still practice in Golfclub Otelfingen and Golfclub Zurich, whilst putting emphasis on his physical program at the Schulthess Klinik - which he usually only gets time do do in march every year.

The first playing opportunities came in February where André played 4 EPD-Tour events in a row in Belek, Turkey. André came back with a 17th, a 19th and a 6th position in these events. The start on the Challenge Tour will come end of March at the Kenya Open in Nairobi.

The season will unfold mainly in Europe from April till NOvember 2012 with events on the European and the Challenge Tour. André looks forward to the two highlights in Switzerland, namely the Credit Suisse Challenge in Sempach in July 2012 and the Omega European Masters in Crans in September 2012.
